Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluations

At Blossoming Brains, we believe true healing happens when you feel entirely safe and
supported. For many, a beloved animal companion plays an essential role in easing daily emotional challenges. To legally qualify for an ESA housing accommodation under federal and Texas state law, an individual must be evaluated and determined to have a qualifying disability by a licensed mental health professional.

To help our community feel secure in their homes, we are so happy to share that Alyssa Floresca, LCSW-S, is officially certified to provide specialized Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and housing accommodation letters for our qualifying clients.

Who is Eligible?
To maintain the highest ethical standards, we wrap this service around the families we already
know and care for, rather than offering letters to the general public. If you are a Texas resident seeking a housing accommodation within the state, you are eligible if you meet one of these paths:
● Our Blossoming Brains Family: You or your child has completed a full psychological evaluation with us within the last three (3) years or you or your child has a current treatment plan with one of our therapists.
● Alyssa’s therapy and private practice clients: You are currently partnering with Alyssa in therapy, with at least four (4) active sessions completed and a collaborative treatment plan in place.
● A Gentle Note for Parents: If the ESA is for your child, both you and your child will attend the sessions together, so we can support the whole family. The animal being considered as an ESA must directly benefit the minor client.

Walking Through the Process Together:
● A Simple Start: Fill out a quick initial intake screener to share a bit about your animal and your goals.
● The Clinical Interview (60 mins): We’ll meet (in-office, in-home, or via teletherapy) to talk through your mental health journey and how your animal supports you. (Please note: Animals are not permitted in the office; Meeting your animal is completely optional and not required to qualify for an ESA letter. If you would like to introduce us to your companion, you may schedule an in-home or teletherapy appointment with Ms. Floresca
for the evaluation).
●ESA Guidance & Education (60 mins): We’ll review your rights under the Fair Housing Act (FHA), best practices for animal care, and community responsibilities.
●Receiving Your Letter: If you meet the criteria for a qualifying diagnosis, your official housing accommodation letter will be provided to you within 48 business hours of our final session.

Investment & Fees:
This is a specialized, private-pay care option which cannot be filed through insurance or third- party payers.

  • Assessment & Education: $180 (Covers the clinical interview and your guidance session; $90 billed after each session).
  • Documentation & Letter: $50 (Only billed once your formal ESA housing letter is completed and issued).
  • Extra Animal Companions: $100 (Covers the dedicated clinical time needed to evaluate and add an additional animal).

Our Refund Policy:
Fees cover dedicated clinical time and expertise. If the evaluation shows you do not clinically qualify for an ESA letter, a refund cannot be issued for sessions attended. However, you will not be charged the $50 documentation fee, and we will happily connect you with alternative tools to support your growth.
