Allyson Patterson, M.Ed., CSC, LPC Associate (supervised by Ken Van Swearingen, LPC-S and Morgan Grahovec, Ph.D.) specializes in perinatal and postpartum mental health, supporting women and families through the life-changing transition of pregnancy and early parenthood. She works with clients experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and the emotional challenges of adjusting to new roles. Allyson also has experience working with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety disorders, OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), helping them and their families develop tools for resilience and connection. She provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood, reduce feelings of isolation, and build confidence in their ability to cope.
With a background in education as a Certified School Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Allyson integrates warmth and empathy with evidence-based practices. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), and is certified in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety. She also incorporates mindfulness-based approaches to offer both practical coping strategies and deeper emotional support. Her goal is to help clients not only manage symptoms, but also reconnect with themselves, their families, and the joy of daily life.
