About Dr. Grahovec

Dr. Morgan Grahovec was raised in New England and earned degrees in Psychology and History from New York University, where she was a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. She completed her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, passing her Comprehensive Exam with Distinction.

While in graduate school, Dr. Grahovec trained in a variety of academic medical centers, private practices, and community mental health centers throughout the Chicagoland area. She became proficient in psychotherapy for individuals across the lifespan, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approaches. Dr. Grahovec completed a practicum in adult and geriatric neuropsychology at a Chicagoland hospital, primary focusing on dementia evaluations. In the pediatric realm, she worked as a psychometrist at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, servicing a wide range of youth medical patients, particularly those with epilepsy. Dr. Grahovec was also a research coordinator at Lurie Children’s for youth with pediatric non-epileptic seizures (PPNES), and for a longitudinal study through Shriners Children’s Chicago of children born with craniosynostosis.

Dr. Grahovec completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship in pediatric neuropsychology and health psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, where she focused on assessing children with autism, ADHD, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and sickle cell disease. In September 2016, Dr. Grahovec finished a prestigious two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. Dr. Grahovec has extensive experience providing culturally competent and sensitive assessments and treatments to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families from diverse ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dr. Grahovec is also trained to provide therapy services, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).  For therapy services, Dr. Grahovec specializes in women’s issues, parenting/motherhood, females with chronic health and hormonal conditions (e.g., diabetes, PCOS), and ADHD.

Dr. Grahovec is licensed as a psychologist in the state of Texas (#37229) and credentialed as a National Register Health Service Psychologist. She is excited to now be able to serve 39 states (soon to be 40!) in the United States via telehealth through an interjurisdictional licensure process for psychologists known as PSYPACT, which was developed in 2019 to expand access to mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Grahovec also serves as a consulting psychologist for Pediatric People, a primary and urgent care private practice located in Frisco. She assists their patients and families with ADHD and mental health diagnostic evaluations and referrals.

Dr. Grahovec a member of the International Neuropsychological Society (INS), the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN), the Texas Psychological Association (TPA), the Dallas Psychological Association (DPA), and the Collin County Psychological Association (CCPA).

Dr. Grahovec resides in Celina with her husband, daughter, and son. When she is not shuttling her children to and from ice hockey and lacrosse games, she enjoys reading, cooking, cycling, boating, and traveling with her family.
